In 2025, First Flight launched a partnership with Junior Achievement of Eastern North Carolina. For over 100 years, the non-profit JA (www.ja.org) has prepared students with the skills and confidence to pursue economic success. JA programming includes an established curriculum taught in schools using their educational kits for Students, Trained Volunteers, and Teachers, ensuring K-12 graders have access to essential, life-changing financial education experiences.

Together, First Flight and Junior Achievement partner to recruit volunteers, including associates from the First Flight Credit Union Staff, to help students with the skills and confidence they need to pursue economic and life success. The First Flight Business Volunteers bring their own knowledge of credit unions to the students for engaged volunteer sessions.

All local residents in our footprint have access to apply for the First Flight Learn to Earn Program on our Young Savers accounts, which rewards children for good grades and allows children to learn how to spend, save, give, and prepare to invest responsibly.
